How can you make a watermelon explode? With rubber bands!
Make sure to do this in an open area. Have each children put rubber bands around the watermelon. Prepare as many rubber bands as you can. Watermelons, even with a hard covering, can’t handle pressure. So as you wrap rubber bands around it, it will be put under pressure and will crack and explode. You can record a video as you do this experiment to see again how it happens.
