How to Make Butter

by James Wang Leave a Comment

Ahoy!

A very simple experiment to with your Sunday school class. You can also have some bread ready to do some taste-test with the kids.  You need only 3 things to make butter  – double cream, salt and a clean jar.

Put the double cream inside the clean jar and fill half of the jar. Add a pinch of salt. Cover the jar and shake it for fifteen minutes. You will see two things inside a jar, a lump of fat and a milky liquid. Take out the lump and put it in a plate with tissue on top to remove excess liquid. Taste the lump of fat and spread it on a bread. You will have a butter sandwich!
