Science Experiment: Salt Glue

by James Wang Leave a Comment

Science Experiment- Salt GlueThis Science experiment will teach kids how to stick an ice cube to a string using salt.

What you will need:

  1. Ice cubes
  2. String
  3. Salt
  4. Bowl with water

Drop the ice cubes on the bowl of water. Place the (wet) strings on top of the floating ice cubes. Put salt where the string and ice cube meet. Leave it for one minute.

After a minute, try to lift the two ends of the string and you will see that the ice cubes are now glued onto the string.

Salt lowers the freezing point of water. So when you put salt on the ice, it will melt and refreeze after.
