“Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you.” — H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Sometimes kids in our classes, streets and groups are from wonderful homes with parents that are healthy role models. Sometimes they don’t. For many kids, if you have a bus ministry, and sometimes even when you don’t, we have to act as their stand-in spiritual parents to do our best to stand the gap. When your classes, streets and pews/chairs of children think of you, what do they think first? When they think of caring, of fairness and of integrity, do they think of you? Sobering stuff. I hope the kids I work with, along with the team I lead, and most importantly my own wife and child, do think of me when they think of those 3 things.
Let’s be to these kids the most caring, fair and trust worthy people they know, come Sunday and every Sunday.
